Disneyland Abu Dhabi Opening Date and Abu Dhabi’s New Attractions (2026)

No opening date for Disneyland Abu Dhabi has been officially announced. As of 2 October 2026, neither Disney nor Miral has published an opening date or year. Disney and Miral announced the Disney theme park resort on Yas Island on 7 May 2025, and said further details would follow as the project progresses. Opening dates you see elsewhere are estimates, not official announcements. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi has opened several major attractions since 2025, and more have confirmed dates.

Disneyland Abu Dhabi: what is officially confirmed

The Walt Disney Company and Miral announced the agreement on 7 May 2025. According to Disney’s announcement:

• It will be a waterfront Disney theme park resort on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
• Disney calls it its seventh theme park resort.
• Miral will develop, build and operate the resort, while Disney and its Imagineers lead creative design and operational oversight.
• The resort is planned to include Disney entertainment, themed hotels, dining and shopping.
• No opening date was given. The release says further details will be announced as the project progresses.

We found no official Disney or Miral announcement of an opening date or year up to 2 October 2026. Some media reports give estimated timeframes, but these are not official, so we do not repeat them here. When a date is confirmed, it will come from Disney and Miral.

Zayed National Museum

The UAE’s national museum opened in the Saadiyat Cultural District on 3 December 2025. It has six permanent galleries covering 300,000 years of human history in the region, and the life of the UAE’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The building was designed by Foster + Partners, with five steel structures inspired by a falcon’s wing.

Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi

This museum opened in the Saadiyat Cultural District on 22 November 2025. Highlights named by the Abu Dhabi Media Office include “Stan”, a near-complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton, a 25-metre blue whale specimen and the Murchison Meteorite.

teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi

An immersive digital art museum in the Saadiyat Cultural District, opened in April 2025. Its installations use light, water and movement and react to the people inside.

Yas Waterworld expansion

Miral added 11 new slides and attractions to Yas Waterworld, open to guests from 4 April 2026. They include Matamir’s Drop, which Miral describes as the UAE’s tallest waterslide, with a drop of over 40 metres.

Coming next: dates announced

• Guggenheim Abu Dhabi: due to open on 11 December 2026 in the Saadiyat Cultural District, according to Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism. Visit Abu Dhabi says the Frank Gehry building rises to 88 metres and calls it the largest Guggenheim in the world.
• Harry Potter-themed lands at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi: announced on 7 September 2026. There will be three lands (Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest) covering about 63,000 sq m, with construction targeted for completion in 2029.

Multi-park tickets: the official Yas Island site sells 2-, 3- and 4-park tickets. You have six calendar days from your first park visit to use them, and the site says they cost less than buying single tickets. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Getting around: Yas Express is a free shuttle bus that links Yas Island’s hotels and attractions, with routes running daily.

Saadiyat Cultural District

Saadiyat now groups Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi and teamLab Phenomena, and the Guggenheim is due to join them in December 2026. Louvre Abu Dhabi opened in 2017 and was designed by Jean Nouvel. Visit Abu Dhabi describes it as the first universal museum in the Arab world.

If you add the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to your trip, the mosque asks visitors to pre-book an online access pass and to follow its dress code. Women need loose clothing to the ankles, sleeves to the wrists and full hair coverage. Men should cover their legs and avoid sleeveless or tight tops.
