Do UAE residents need a visa for Thailand?
It depends on your passport, not your UAE residence. The rules changed recently:
- New 30-day exemption: the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced that from 15 September 2026, passport holders of 60 countries and territories can stay up to 30 days without a visa for tourism. The UAE is on that list.
- 15-day exemption: under the same revision, passport holders from Seychelles and Mauritius get 15 days.
- Repeat visits: the revised scheme limits how often the exemption can be used. If you visit Thailand often, check the current conditions with the embassy before you travel.
Some older pages, including official ones, still describe the previous 60-day scheme. Check the date on anything you read. If your nationality is not exempt, the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi says that since 1 January 2025, foreign nationals living in the UAE must apply online through the Thai e-Visa platform (thaievisa.go.th). Passports and original documents no longer have to be submitted in person at the embassy.

What is the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)?
The TDAC is an online arrival card, not a visa. According to Royal Thai Embassy guidance, since 1 May 2025 all non-Thai nationals entering Thailand by air, land or sea must complete it, including visitors entering under the visa exemption scheme. It must be submitted within 3 days before arrival, on the official site (tdac.immigration.go.th). Use only the official site, and ask your agency whether it will remind you or help you complete the form.
